Print Civilian Instructions Poster (8x10) cap and incarceration of Japanese AmericansSoon after President Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 on February 19, 1942, this Civilian Exclusion Order and others like it, began appearing in public places all along the West Coast to notify people of Japanese ancestry of their impending forced removal from their homes. The orders instructed people to pack only what they could carry. Most of them suffered tremendous economic losses in addition to the humiliation of an unjust incarceration.
