First stop was photographing the skyline across the lake with a steady breeze blowing

Whether it is on the steps of the Colorado state capitol

I noticed the shadow from the bridge to the bay below and stopped to photograph this scene as a boat emerged from under the bridge

The main challenge is finding where they are located as it changes each year

I was able to stand in a recently paved area which was still closed to traffic and capture this image

This morning there was a system which was moving through which prevented a colorful sunrise as we have had the past couple of years. It was still nice to get out and watch the first morning of the year start with Denver as a backdrop. As I left the location some snowflake were present as well.
