A Fishing Party Nicolas The hand from an underlying"A Fishing Party" is a conversation piece painted probably c. 1730 31. Murray recorded the remains of a signature, lower left centre, but these cannot now be found. Old photographs show the man on the left baiting the hook, but this was an alteration which has since been removed, presumably during cleaning in 1947 68. The line now ends at the float held by the mother.
