Typically a richer, slightly sweeter style than some of the other big names, this is Vintage Port at its most noble, yet inviting. The 83 is maturing gracefully now, with rounded figgy fruit on the palate, and a long warming finish. Decant a bottle on Christmas morning to go with the pudding, and it will still be lovely with some Stilton on Boxing Day. Philip
