It was made under the creative direction of Alexander McQueen. The cut of the dress is a play on a traditional men's tux. McQueen often pulled from menswear to add touches and play on gender and this is a gorgeous example of that. The dress is made from a beautifully weighted black silk that has a very slight texture running through it. It has that same liquid feel that the best of the 1930s pieces
